Moduli of Algebraic Varieties

Abstract: Moduli spaces play a fundamental role in algebraic geometry and well beyond. These spaces are essentially spaces parameterising collections of varieties with certain invariants fixed. I this talk I discuss existence of compact moduli spaces for algebraic varieties in a quite general context.
